Taxotere® (docetaxel) is prescribed to cancer patients by inhibiting the growth of the cancer cells. Only a medical care professional can administer the drug. The amount of dosage, as well as the frequency, are determined by the level of the disease’s progression and severity, typically over the course of a few weeks.
Hair Loss & Other Side Effects
There are known side effects from using Taxotere. Before receiving a prescription, patients are required to disclose a full medical history, including allergies, heart problems, lung problems, and blood pressure problems. The ingredients used in the drug may aggravate these conditions.
Other known side effects of Taxotere include the following:
- Light-headed feeling
- Fever and chills
- Swelling of the ankles and feet
- Redness, swelling, and irritation at the injection site
Patients were told that taking Taxotere may cause them to experience temporary hair loss. However, some recent reports have found that the temporary hair loss experienced may actually be permanent. Patients have been asking their doctors questions, “When will my hair grow back?” with little to no response. McGartland Law Firm, LLC is here to provide those individuals with a voice and help them find the answers they need.
